When one door closes...

When one door closes, another play opportunity shows itself...
Living in a small apartment, it can sometimes feel like the entire place is being taken over by the little one  - toys spread from one corner to the other, everything messy, everything dirty, out of control...
OK, so maybe this is my 'obsessive compulsive streak' showing itself. Nevertheless, I've found it helps to sometimes close doors, limiting our little one's play space, especially just after I've cleaned!
It's kept parts of our home relatively clean and organised, and helps B to focus on playing in one area.

So far, he has never looked bored or unhappy with this occasional 'space management strategy', and seems to attend well to toys and playing in the smaller play space. Often he has chosen toys to bring into the 'allocated play area', such as a large bag of building blocks  - which has not required much space, and has saved me from rescuing pieces from under drawers and beds etc in other areas/rooms.

My theory: kids will adapt to whatever space they are given!
