Livvi's Place Elara

At 7,400 square metres, Livvi's Place Elara is the largest inclusive playground in Australia and it absolutely delivers on that promise. Built by the Touched by Olivia Foundation, this playground was designed from the outset so that children of all abilities can play side by side — not in separate sections, but genuinely together. Every piece of equipment has been thought through for wheelchair access, sensory needs, and physical differences.

The playground is fully fenced with a single controlled entry point, which is a godsend for parents of runners or kids who need that extra layer of safety. Inside, the water play area is spectacular in summer — accessible splash pads, water tables at wheelchair height, and channelled water play that works for everyone. There's a massive Liberty Swing (designed for wheelchairs), sensory panels, musical instruments, a double flying fox with accessible harness option, and climbing structures with ramps alongside ladders.

The surrounding Elara estate in Marsden Park is relatively new, so the facilities are modern and well-maintained. Clean toilets with accessible cubicles and adult change tables are right next to the playground. There's ample free parking in a dedicated car park. The nearest cafe is in the Elara shopping village, about a 5-minute drive. No direct train access — you'll need to drive or bus from Schofields station.

This playground is genuinely life-changing for families with children who have disabilities. But it's also just a brilliant playground for any kid. The sheer variety of equipment means children from toddlers through to 12-year-olds will find something challenging and fun.
